Taylor Swift Vs Kanye West: Relive Every Explosive Feud They’ve Ever Had

Here we go again! Just when we thought everything was cool between Taylor Swift, 26, and Kanye West, 38, the rapper went and released a scathing new diss track about her at his Yeezy 3 fashion show and, needless to say, Taylor is NOT happy! Of course, this is hardly the first time that Ye and Tay have gone head-to-head and by the looks of this latest battle, it’s not likely to be their last!  As the two prepare to square off once again, let’s take a look back their explosive feud over the years. Okay, so let’s take this one all the way back to beginning — a.k.a the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. That’s right, as you likely recall, Kanye first ignited this feud when he rushed the stage and interrupted Taylor’s Best Female Video win. The “You Belong With me” singer had just taken to the stage to accept her award when out of no where, Kanye grabbed the mic and gave what is now one of his most famous rants of all-time. “Yo, Taylor, I’m really happy for you,” he began — which was a total lie. “I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!”
Realizing he was in the wrong, Kanye then took to his blog days after the VMAs to apologize to the then country singer for his actions…while also going on another insane rant. “I’m sooooo sorry to Taylor and her fans and her mom,” he wrote. “I’m in the wrong for going on stage and taking away from her moment. Beyonce’s video was the best of this decade . . . I’m sorry to my fans if I let you guys down . . . I’m sorry to my friends at MTV . . . I will apologize to Taylor.”

Unfortunately, he wasn’t that sorry, as he later opened up to The New York Times about the incident in a 2013 interview, admitting that he had no regrets about what happened that infamous night. “It’s only led me to complete awesomeness at all times. It’s only led me to awesome truth and awesomeness,” he said. “Beauty, truth, awesomeness. That’s all it is. I don’t have one regret. If anyone’s reading this waiting for some type of full-on, flat apology for anything, they should just stop reading right now.” So then why did he apologize to her in the first place? “I have, as a human being, fallen to peer pressure.” And the feud continues!
Taylor then added fuel to the fire that same year when she took to Twitter on July 17 to shade Kanye in a tweet about her two VMA nominations that year. “Two VMA nominations!!” Taylor tweeted July 17. “If you vote and get us one, I promise to keep a firmer grip on the mic this time ;)” Got ’em!
And she didn’t stop there either! A month later, Tay teamed up with her BFF Ed Sheeran to poke fun at the rapper once again, this time by mocking his interruption speech with a hilarious photo. “Taylor made me some jam. Amazing.” tweeted Ed with a picture of a jar of jam (jelly) on August 19, 2013. The jar read this message: “Yo Ed, I’m really happy 4 you and I’m gonna let you finish but this is the best JAM OF ALL TIME – T.”

The two of course, eventually made up in 2015 with the help of their mutual friend Jay Z, with Taylor even presenting Kanye with VMA Video Vanguard Award at that year’s awards ceremony. Unfortunately, the reconciliation was short lived as not even six months later Kanye released his diss track, “Famous,”on which he sings, “I feel like me and Taylor Swift might still have sex, I made that b*tch famous.” YIKES!
While the entire Kardashian family showed support for ‘Ye by dancing along to the song at his fashion show, Tay had her own squad of pals who took to social media to back her up, and the feud just continued to grow from there. Soon after, Taylor’s rep released a statement explaining that, while Kanye did give her a phone call about the song, it wasn’t to get her blessing. “She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message,” said her rep. “Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that b***ch famous.’”
The rapper then responded by taking to Twitter on Feb. 12 to retaliate against the critics, and totally refuted everything Taylor’s rep said in this statement, insisting Tay was made aware of the lyric, claiming she thought it was ‘funny,’ and even that it was her who gave him the idea! And that’s where we’re at for now. If their past history is anything to go by though, we can expect this feud to go on for quite some time, so stay tuned!
