Tom
Hanks and his fellow nominees. He went on to say, ‘It’s been such an
honor. I’m so pleased that our film has been nominated so many times.’ Well done
Mark!

It came as a shock to all when Mark took the award home because Sly swept
awards season as the presumed favorite, winning supporting actor at the Golden
Globes and the Critic’s Choice Awards. It also would have been the first Oscar
for the actor, who was nominated at the 1977 Academy Awards for his first time
playing the iconic character of Rocky Balboa.
Even Sly’s good pal and Expendables co-star
Arnold
Schwarzenegger took to Twitter to share his support to him “No matter
what they say. To me, you are the best. You were the winner. I’m proud of you,”
the Terminator actor tweeted.
